I was very, very bad this weekend, but I blame forces that were outside my control. I was led astray, dammit.

I had intended to behave myself and just get work done this weekend. I was going to do it all, accomplish every goal I'd set for myself and stick to my diet. Ha! The Fates laughed right in my face and said "I don't think so."

Saturday I ended up at the Sharks/Aves game, despite knowing full well we were doomed to lose. Sure enough we did, after a brilliant first period, a so-so second, and a dismal third. Ah well, at least Toskala had some damn near miraculous saves which made the game more than worthwhile. Still, it cut a great big chunk out of the afternoon, and made getting back up to speed later on that much more difficult.

So most of the housework got done, but by no means all of it. At least the place is clean and the yard mowed, raked, and most of the trees and bushes trimmed. So what if a few of the posters didn't get hung and I still haven't cleaned the tub, right?

Also managed to pretty much complete my Legolas costume. I could go insane and decorate the bracers and belt, but I'm probably only wearing this thing once and I'm just not that much of a perfectionist. At least it's done which is something. Now I can get back to the dozen or so other projects that have been bouncing around my head.

Speaking of which, Red Heart's started making that really soft home-spun style yarn that I've so admired, and it's doing so in nice colors and cheaper than I expected to be able to find it. I think it's a little over $3.00 a skein at Walmart. So I picked some up and a few other colors that I liked in the regular yarns and will probably launch back into crocheting this week. It's one of those things I can pick up or put down whenever I feel like it so working on it, which is nice when I know I'm not going to have much time to do anything this week.

Dropped [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano off at the airport yesterday after a nice lunch at Garden Fresh. Then went home to get some further odds and ends done and the patio organized and cleaned. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can spend at least some time during the party outside enjoying the backyard. We shall see.

Dinner at Menara was, as always, amazingly delicious and watching dancer after dancer was delightful. As [livejournal.com profile] aelfsciene got to be "Bread Bitch" so too [livejournal.com profile] caredhel was dubbed "Dollar Bitch" and doomed to spend the evening stuffing ones into lovely ladies' dance belts. It was a heavy burden, but we all appreciated the sacrifices she made for us. Great costumes, great dancers, and Una came and sat with us for a bit after she performed which was nice. Aelf took many pictures which I'm sure will be cropped, renamed, and uploaded someday before the end of this century *G*

So the diet was completely shot yesterday, but I'd given myself permission to take the day off and to suck up the pound or two I put on because of it. Turns out it was just one really and that's not a tremendously big deal. I'm back to three dance classes this week so I should work it off. Theoretically. And the party prep, shopping, last minute cleaning, fretting, and general running around like a crazed ferret should help take off the rest. We shall see.
