And in honor of Pride weekend and the ever radiant Sir Ian, a second quote for all my classic film junkies out there:

"Why would a man want to marry another man?"
"Security."

Get one and you win a smiley face, both and you get a gold star!

Oh what a weekend, I don't even know where to begin really. I suppose I should start with the wedding, it was gorgeous and I promise to post what lame-ass pictures I have just as soon as I get a spare minute to do so. I got some pretty good photos of folks post-ceremony, though most show more of the peoples' hair blowing in their faces rather than the people themselves. As I'm sure everyone's aware by now, it was windy! Sadly my lovely dress got hidden under layers of fleece vests and warm jackets (thank you [livejournal.com profile] mallen and [livejournal.com profile] forkmonkey!) as I huddled and shivered. [livejournal.com profile] esmerel looked absolutely gorgeous and the ceremony itself went incredibly smoothly. I admit to getting a bit goopey by the end of the day, which ended up being exacerbated by [livejournal.com profile] tersa showing Sue and I "Chocolat". Silly, sappy, romantic, and lovely, it was a relaxing and happy way to end the day. I went to bed with a big goofy grin on my face that night.

Sunday was Pride! [livejournal.com profile] aelfsciene and I went up to the city bright and early (8:30 a.m. to be exact) and made it in plenty of time to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] elo_sf and [livejournal.com profile] phillipalden who saved us a spot up front. I think Phil and Aelf got better pictures than mine so I'm in no huge rush to download them, but being about 30 feet from Sir Ian was definitely the highlight. We squealed like little girls and bounced up and down as he drove by carrying the Union Jack. Erik and I then went for Jamba to supply the weary troops and we watched the majority of the parade. Finally Aelf and I headed for the Civic Center and Pride celebration itself. It was, in a word, crowded. A little time after attempting to press our way through those crowds we gave up and headed home, getting in later than we'd both hoped I'm afraid. Of course the heat down at this end of the bay was murderous, which gave me an excuse not to drive over to the house like I should have. I just flopped down in front of a fan and slowly melted. A cool shower and a good 60 Minutes episode was about all I had the energy for before crawling off to bed and passing out. On the upside I actually got to sleep despite the caramel frappaccino I treated myself to yesterday. Go me!

Crunches: 0 (c'mon, it was too hot to breathe last night!)
Weekend Rating: 8.5
