Shake your groove thing
Jun. 18th, 2002 08:35 amI had the kind of day at work yesterday that drives me nuts. Mondays are always busy, I have reports to put together, email to catch up on, bulletin boards to read through and post, etc., etc. But for some reason it also turned into "Let's dump more work on Ellie at random intervals and especially a half hour before she leaves. Maybe we can make her head explode!" day.
Well I foiled their evil little scheme by keeping myself amused with IMs from tersa, emails a'plenty and gazing at my pretty (but droopy) roses.
And speaking of flowers, a short public service announcement. Please, please, please stop sending me flowers. I love both the guys who've done it for their generosity and for taking the time to think about me, but this is starting to reach an almost absurd level. I mean I have more vases now than I could possibly ever need and everybody at work is giving me funny looks. It's becoming a bit...uncomfortable. Want to make me happy and put a smile on my face? Email me. Seriously, email is my lifeline at work, it keeps me sane and lets me know you care and are interested in my life. That's all I really want or need from any of my friends.
I hope that doesn't sound too ungrateful, because I do truly appreciate the thought and effort that went into them.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled LJ, already in progress.
So tonight is Shira's class and I'm both excited and a bit nervous. I wish we hadn't had quite so much time between the last one and this one, I feel like I'm starting over in a way. But the first class will be easy, I've got all the basic moves down so walking through them will be pretty straightforward. And getting to lure Aelf into this fun little cult is going to be a delight. As is getting to see Ezzy more often again. She makes the class so much more fun for me, having someone to giggle with when you totally screw up a move is wonderful.
Bellydance 2 is intimidating me a bit. I don't have quite the right veils and I know that going into it, so there's a bit of pressure on to finish up the one I'm working on then make another like it. At least it's starting to look right, yay! Must stop tonight after work and try to pick up the rest of the trim I need for it as I think I might be able to get about 3/4 of the way through the long side hem tonight. Managed to stab the hell out of my left thumb last night, but fortunately none of the blood ended up on the veil itself. Go me!
Oh and the princess was very wicked last night and attempted to lure me into taking Una's class as well. The temptation is strong, but resist I must as I'm writing a huge check for the house tonight and it will leave me with mere pennies in my account. Much as I'd love to take the class I must be fierce in my budgeting henceforth so I can afford things like water and food.
The nice thing is, though, that I'm going to have such a cool house that the option of spending more time there to avoid spending $$ won't be such a bad one. And at last I'll have a backyard in which I can practice my dance moves without having to worry about being watched or disturbing anyone. Space, glorious space! Ack, want keys now!!!
Crunches: 80 (turned the last 20 into these killer ones that nearly had me crying for my mommy, but boy were they effective!)
Excitement Level: Rising
