The lilacs are in bloom

ebonlockOnline anyway, thanks to cyrano who, knowing how I feel about that particular flower, sent me a virtual bush in full bloom. I'm going to be visiting the page all day long and pretending I'm looking out my window at them. Wish I'd worn my Lilac lotion today, then I could pretend I was smelling them too. *happy sigh* Thanks, hon, that really put a smile on my face this morning *G*
If you haven't already followedjakejr's advice from yesterday may I take a moment to encourage you to do so? We all sometimes take those we care about, and those who care about us, for granted. We somehow think they're always going to be there, even if we know they won't. Remember my old "life's too
short" comments? Take them to heart, because it really is, and all too fragile too.
On a lighter note, I'd just like to say that cold showers suck. I mean they're fine things when you're in 90+ degree weather or desperately trying not to explode from sexual tension, but otherwise they're not much fun. I know this because after exercising last night I stepped into a shower about the temperature of the Arctic ocean. Why, you might ask? Well it seems that the plumber was in between ten a.m. and noon yesterday and by nine that night we still had no hot water. I imagine this was a complex-wide issue but a little head's up would've been nice. They notified us that the hot water would be off for two hours, not all day and night. If I weren't already thrilled to be moving out this summer, this would've tipped the scales.
Speaking of moving, if anyone notices a house for rent in the MV/Sunnyvale/Santa Clara/Redwood City area please let me know. Also suggestions for finding such an abode are more than welcome.

Cold water:
Date: 2002-06-04 09:09 am (UTC)I've had that happen. A complex down in the south area I lived in consistently gave 70-80 degree water in the mornings. *every* morning. We complained time after time about it. It went on for months. They insisted there was nothing wrong. Just at the point I was looking around for the number for the health department (since apartment complexes are *by law* required to dispense water at minimally 110 degrees fahrenheit from the hot water tap) ... I got startled by a cold cold cold water shower when I had to get up for an early shift. Thankfully, I knew there was a shower at the office. I got downstairs.. (it's 5:10 am).. and they were changing out the boiler.. without informing the tenants. bastards.
