The idea of a quiet retreat for a few days is beginning to appeal to me greatly. Not that I can't just go home to a nice quiet apartment with the roomie gone, but being someplace else where all I have to do is sit and be sounds lovely. Too many emotions right now, and as much as I'd like to believe purchasemonkey's theory about sushi curing depression, I can't seem to right now.

I'm going to miss my friends! tersa, mallen, and princessmei are off to Mother Russia for weeks and weeks. I know they're going to have a wonderful, exciting time and probably never even think about me once while they're gone, but I can't help the fact that I'm going to miss them all hideously. Jealous? Mmm, maybe a bit of that, but also I think I just really profoundly enjoy their company and I'm sad to know I won't get to share it for a while.

Referring back to a rant a few weeks back, life is too short and too fleeting not to spend it with the people you care about. But, trying to look on the bright side for a bit I'm going to use this as an excuse to spend some time with some folks I don't get to see nearly often enough. I'm also going to openly invite any and all interested parties to sign up for belly dance class which starts again in a couple of weeks. Want to hang out with some really cool gals, learn something new, get some great exercise, and have an excuse to buy pretty, sparkly, jangly things? Then go immediately to Shira.net and check out info on the class. It's held right in Mountain View in the community building at Rengstorff Park. It's incredibly fun, exhilarating, and guaranteed to make you leave every class with a smile on your face. Come join us, you know you want to *G*

Also of note, We3, the fabulous belly dance costume store front has closed its doors, but they will be renting out studio space for dancers. If enough gals took the class and decided we all enjoyed it, it might be fun to rent the space for an hour or two and just hang out and dance. I can't tell you how enjoyable it is to just put on some music and move to it, very liberating too, and a great excuse to put on some wonderful costumes.

I'm also being lured into NERO, gods help me I swore no more cults this year!

Crunches: 70 (go me!)
Full Belly Dance Costumes: 4

Trust me, the dark side is more fun. :-)

I'm sorry you're feeling blue, though I can certainly understand the lure of good solitary retreat. And I hope caredhel and I are on that list of friends you might get to see more often.

I seem to have already imbibed several cups of it this year, but no effect so far. Ah well, so much for my New Years resolutions...*sigh*

It sounds like you're booked, but here's another cult to peer at: Flos Duellatorum, The flower of battle. Longsword classes, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8-9pm in San Jose. :)

About sushi curing depression...Perhaps eating fish regularly can cure certain kinds of depression since I'm told that fish is a good source of vitamin B12.

May vigilant ninja gardeners prune and water your emotional landscape.

Oh goodness yes. B vitamins in general, and b12 in particular are very good for that sort of thing. I have a tendency to be b12 deficient. I can tell you it makes a very big difference when I don't have enough in my system. Depression and blinding headaches are just the start. ;)

Crap, my Tuesday nights are shot, and Thursdays I usually game. Guess I'll have to wait on those for a bit, ah well.
As for sushi, well for me it would have to be veggie sushi so I can't possibly get any fish-related anti-depressants I'm afraid *G*
And now that you mention it I bet ninjas would help my mood greatly, I should rent something ninja-related to watch tonight....

Well B vitamins I can do, I have a nice B complex sitting at home which I will be sure to start taking again. Good advice, guys, thanks!

NERO isn't so bad, though. Especially with [livejournal.com profile] ophanim and [livejournal.com profile] technocowboy and [livejournal.com profile] satyr69 all part of the cool kid's club, on top of the usual suspects. :)

If you were in NERO my NPCs would all be uncommonly well disposed toward you. (:
And you are of course welcome to sit and be at our house--and pet the kitty--any time you like. I'll be all lonely too. (Just make sure you call five minutes in advance. While Leigh Ann's gone I don't have to bother getting dressed.)

Well how does tomorrow evening sound? I'd be delighted to pick you up from work and perhaps I can twist your arm regarding cooking up some of those yummy veggies you guys have in the fridge *G*

You're the loveliest. And I'm a flake.

You're wonderful and nice, and if you came and played with us sometime I would absolutely swoon.

Are you in Una's class?

You're the best ever.

You know something? Every time I hear from you out of the blue it's like getting my very own surprise party. I just feel all giddy and happy and delighted. Of course I'd love to come play with you, just let me know when you're available and I'll happily arrive. Nope, not in Una's class this semester, but taking two of Shira's (which may be my undoing *G*). You should join us if you can!
