"Watch the skies! Keep looking!"
Sep. 5th, 2003 08:47 amI don't need this bedleh set even though it would fit me well nigh perfectly. Nope. Really. Only $120? *whimper* No, I shouldn't, DDF is only two weeks away and these are the same people who screwed me over about the commissioned bedleh I wanted. So they don't deserve my money anyway, right? Right?

I think part of the reason it's so tempting right now is that I'd dearly like something fun and silly, something girly and sparkly, something to make me feel pretty again. It's been such a long time, and I feel like the years when someone would actually want to see me in such a get-up are quickly slipping through my fingers. I didn't have the guts in my 20's to wear such a thing, but I'll find them in my 30's, dammit.
And I get paid today...*sigh*...I think I might just be doomed.
But it's Friday at last, and I have a lazy weekend ahead of me. Well, ok, by my definition a "lazy" weekend, which will undoubtedly include lots of housework and crafting and my volunteering on Sunday. But aside from some quick errands, that's it. And this is the last lazy weekend for the month so I intend to enjoy it. I will get lots and lots of crafting done, this is my vow. If I could get at least one project put to bed I'll feel really good, really accomplished.
Got to watch Aelf's copy of the original "The Thing", which I haven't seen in years and years and enjoyed it just as much as always. Damn but they knew how to make a good horror flick back in the day. And pointing out some of the cliches and elements of the film that got used in a good many horror flicks after it was fun. I just love the mad scientist in that one, he totally rocks, I need to play a character like that someday. "Sure you've just slaughtered a bunch of my colleagues and are undoubtedly here to conquer the planet, but you're so much wiser than we are, let's communicate and be friends!" I suspect his character would last about 10 minutes in a modern horror film.

Date: 2003-09-05 10:04 am (UTC)Anyway, you're a big girl and can make your own decisions...sorry for the doom and gloom. :) It's a pretty set and I'm sure it would look great on you.

Date: 2003-09-05 10:11 am (UTC)I appreciate the feedback, generally I just buy something if I really want it, when I dither like this it probably means I should hold off. BTW, will you be in class at all next week? I have a cd to give you.
Re: IMO...
Date: 2003-09-05 10:40 am (UTC)Oh, and by the way, I noticed a mention in one of your journal entries about wanting to take a refresher veil course with Alyne. I would love to go in on that, if you want company and don't want to do private lessons.

You know I think it would be great to do a couple of classes with the whole troupe back together with Alyne, don't you? I mean if she's cool with it I'd certainly love the company!

Date: 2003-09-05 02:31 pm (UTC)I'm going to try to make it back to class. I'm just not looking forward to Tic Tic.

Date: 2003-09-05 12:05 pm (UTC)I'd be happy either with a private lesson sort of thing (though Alyne doesn't seem as keen on Sundays anymore, and Ellie's got her work at the shelter) or just taking the intermediate/advanced level of her next veil workshop, really.
