So I was out one day at work and I had over 1300 emails to download. I shudder to think what might happen if I was out for a week.

Well the Salvation Army has also decided my futon is beneath them and refused to take it. Why? They say there are some stains on the mattress cover. I offered to remove said cover but they just repeated they wouldn't take it. Seriously, WTF? It's a perfectly good futon, sure it's not in perfection condition but it's been, you know, USED. Jesus. I'm trying Freecycle one more time but if that doesn't happen I swear I will break the damn thing down myself and throw it away. I've completely and utterly had it with this thing.

Might I suggest:

Don't just use the one Freecycle group, post it on the Sunnyvale one (you're practically on the border) and the *other* MV one too. I saw someone post a futon the other day and it was snatched up immediately, but that was on the other MV group....

Could you do me a big favor and give me the URL to the other Freecycle MV group you're on? I saw one today that had this lime green background and I wasn't sure if that's the one you meant or not.

I think this is the one you're not on:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MountainViewCAFreecycle/?yguid=103321324

Here's the Sunnyvale one (people in MV post on there too. You can just add a line to the description which states you're about a block from the border):

I have so much of those sorts of things piled up right now. I have never gotten rid of most of my husband's stuff after he died, and now the person living in my house next door has trashed and then abandoned it. So there's all this stuff that someone somewhere would really like or need, and it's not only a shame but an inconvenience to throw it out. We've actually drug larger things out to the curb with a 'Free' sign on them, and they've always disappeared within a few hours.

Sadly there's no curb for me to drag it out to without blocking a sidewalk entirely. Just one of the joys of apartment living. But Freecycle's never let me down before so I'm going to try that then Craigslist under the free section if that doesn't work.
