[livejournal.com profile] windrose posted this and I just had to follow along like the obedient meme sheep I am:

Take Which Doctor Who companion are you? (girls) today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.
You're Donna Noble!

Oi! Wotch it, Martian boy! The Doctor thinks he can spout all kinds of ridiculous technobabble and 'Last Time Lord Angst' at you just because he's from outer space, huh? Well, you're not having any of it! You've got a heart of gold and a will of iron, and you're a rather boggling combination of a romantic idealist and a staunch realist. But you never let logical paradoxes get to you; you prefer to shoehorn the universe into a little box of your own perception. More often than not, it fits... probably because the universe is too intimidated to argue!

This is, I should add, as close as I'm getting to Doctor Who right now. The current season has completely turned me off. Don't like the Doctor, don't like his companion, don't like the stories this season in general so I'm just staying away from it. Hey, True Blood just started again and the first episode of season three actually nearly made me hyperventilate. Which reminds me I should ping my sis as there was some serious Eric-ass in that one too so we can squee at each other...

Is Rand Paul a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist? Rand Paul IS an Ophthalmology Board

By night, one-man rLOVEution Rand Paul is a libertarian hero. By day, he has a job as an ophthalmologist, a kind of eye doctor that heals people who can’t see liberty. Except the American Board of Ophthalmology, the board that certifies ophthalmologists, says he isn’t one.

Rand Paul, however, likes to tell people he is “board-certified.” Though he isn’t board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he is certified by the National Board of Ophthalmology. That latter “group” though is an organization led by Rand Paul. More accurately, the National Board of Ophthalmology is Rand Paul. You have to give it to him, the guy is good at naming his groups things that sound real.

Rand Paul’s board has recognized a whopping seven doctors to do ophthalmology versus the 16,000 the American Board has. He’s probably lost some business at his eye-poking practice because The Market has provided us insurance companies that prefer not to give their money to random men by the side of dirt roads in Kentucky who say they do eye surg’ry good.

According to Stephen Colbert the other members of the Board are Rand's wife and in-laws. Nothing like keepin' it in the family, you Galt-esque superman, you.
