ebonlock: (Dancing)
Sorry for a slightly massive info dump, but preparing for the first dance performance in years has eaten my brain. Speaking of which, if any locals are interested in seeing Aelf and our troupe plus our Bollywood dance class here's the info:

South Bay Dance Arts Cooperative Saturday 9/26

Event basics:
Sophisto Society for the Fashion Arts
1177 West San Carlos Street
San Jose Ca. 95126

Show time is 7:00 p.m.
Potluck reception follows.

I finally got my costume mostly finished, but I have to say I'm less than pleased with it. I suspect this will be the one and only time I wear it, despite all the work that went into it. I'll get another before our next performance, hopefully one that won't require a complete overhaul and will make me look even vaguely attractive. Fingers crossed.

On the personal front I treated myself to an actual salon haircut yesterday for the first time in years. The woman who styled it was just enamored of the color and texture and seemed to be really enjoying herself. It was a delightful experience and I was really happy with the cut. I'll definitely be going back

On the home front I got one of the hideous "Bankok Raspberry" (yes, that is the honest to god color name, I couldn't make that up if I tried) blinds down and replaced with proper curtains. Three more to go and I'll feel like at least one more major project can be checked off the list...elventy billion left to go.

What else? Ah yes, also for the locals, if you mentioned an interest in free lemons my tree has finally started producing ripe fruits that so far have just been devoured by the ants. I'd much rather people got some use out of them, so just swing by with a bag or bucket and take your fill. Frighteningly enough the tree's still flowering so I suspect I'm going to be up to my neck in lemons for the foreseeable future.

Finally, how excited am I that House is back tomorrow night? I'm only sad I won't be able to watch it real time. I have actually already set up the DVD-R to catch it. The commercials I've seen so far look fucking awesome. Also I finally caught the Edward Norton Hulk flick and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't quite as much fun as Iron Man, but I give it two big thumbs up...and sure that might have possibly been at least partially due to the fact that Ed ends up naked and fetal in a shower at one point, or the Lou Ferigno cameo, or the walk-on by Robert Downey Jr....well you get the picture. I highly recommend catching it.
