All those who were enjoying my temporary lull in dance babble are about to be disappointed I'm afraid. Last night I found out that we're performing in the DDF Extravaganza, which means performances Saturday and Sunday evenings at the very end of the festival, and right after Dunia and her girls dance.

No pressure, or anything.

As it turns out we will be able to use the handmade troupe costumes we had commissioned, so that's good, and Alyne's seriously considering using the song I suggested though I've no idea in what capacity. She also wants to do mostly new/re-arranged stuff when we've only kinda got "Tammerhenna" under our collective belts.

*sigh*

It's going to be a very short two months, and I'm going to be doing classes on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the very least. Thursdays too once the performance gets closer, methinks. But on the plus side I'm going to end up in the best physical shape of my life by the end of it, and have a performance video in my first big semi-pro gig ever. We're also going to appear in the program with a nifty picture and all, which is kinda cool.

Alyne is bouncing with excitement and has a ton of ideas, the rest of the class and I keep giving one another dubious glances, but most of us seem committed to doing our best. Sounds like S- and I will be doing most of the double veil stuff with Alyne, though, and the rest may be doing single veil and/or balancing. Fortunately the stage is quite large. Oh, and we all get free admission both days, how cool is that?

Beat myself up last night after flubbing "Tammerhenna" in the mirrors. I did fine face to face or dancing it in a circle, but put me up close to the front with Alyne and it all goes to hell. Thursday night has now been set aside for doing nothing but nailing this routine. I will get it, so help me I will.

On non-dance-related topics, this weekend got unexpectedly busy but in a good way. I will be heading down to the flea market Sunday morning for fabric, so no sleeping in for me, still it'll be a load off my mind to get my hands on what I need. And Saturday I'll be going to see either HP3 or SM2 up in RWC with a friend I haven't seen in ages, which is also good. If I can just fit in grocery shopping and a little time to clean the apartment I'm going to be golden.

Did get my car cleaned, go me! And I got the skirt I want to wear to a performance on the 20th started. It's going to be pretty simple so I don't think I need to rush myself on it, I'll have it done. And if I don't, well I've got plenty of other costumes to choose from.

Also managed to hit the post office and mail off a package that's been boxed up for the past month and a half. Also got my Amazon order, at long last. Couldn't resist just watching the "Jamie returns" scene from "Truly, Madly, Deeply" and burst immediately into tears (I always do) so I took it out and watched a few of my favorite Colonel Brandon moments from "Sense and Sensibility". I believe the Alan Rickman-a-thon will proceed on Sunday after I get back from the flea market. I can happily work on projects and watch both films then. *happy sigh*
