I was ever so naughty last night and blew off class for no better reason than that I couldn't get my lazy ass off the couch once I sat down. It's a good thing I got the yard watered and most of the dishes done before I collapsed because they sure as hell wouldn't have been done afterwards. Did manage to catch two more episodes of SG-1, the XMen Evolution episode from Saturday (X23? WTF? They're way off canon now), and the remainder of the romantic cowboy episode of QEftSG. *happy sigh* Also got that damn Steam djinn in Golden Sun 2 that I'd forgotten to grab while still on the island and had to go all the way back for. Luckily you've got two saves in the game and I'd been clever enough to save before leaving the island as well, just in case. The little shit killed two of my characters before I took him down, but fortunately I discovered that even at zero life points my boy Felix can still revive himself and someone else. Woo!

Also got my handkerchief skirt well underway, though now I'm beginning to think I'm never going to have the bedleh set I'd wanted with it. See I've heard nothing back from the eBay seller who was supposed to be making it and emails last week received no response. Aelf and I are concerned as her stuff seems to be getting marked down. Maybe she's going out of business? It'd be nice if she could drop me a note to let me know. Anyway, no bedleh for me, at least not right now.

Should try to get some dancing in tonight, but then again I should also get the front lawn mowed, and I must get the garbage out. And the kitchen floor needs to be swept and mopped, back living room needs to be vacuumed. My horoscope said I should just be low-key and lazy today. This doesn't seem likely.

Oh and has anyone tried out friendster.com? It seems like an intriguing idea but I'm not sure I want to give them my email address quite yet. Opinions?

Perhaps when your horoscope says you should be lazy, it's subtly digging at you and saying you should have gotten more done yesterday. Your horoscope is nagging you.
I've never gotten spam or anything the like that I can trace to friendster. But then I've never really gotten much else out of it. (:
(And of course Evolution is off canon. It's "X-Men High School" which in and of itself is pretty far from canon.)

Yep. Obviously a made up character, but then it was pointed out that Spyke is a made up character, too.

I kind of found the episode interesting, although with the one puzzling logic of making a female clone out of a man, and why in hell Logan didn't do something to oh, make sure she stuck around afterwards.

She's supposed to be returning later in the season. I'll be curious to see how they handle *that*.

At first we thought maybe they'd just done an interesting new take on Lady Deathstryke, but no. I did find one moment in particular interesting. When Xavier's going down the hall, pauses, and asks, "Logan?" then moves into the room and it's her instead. Nicely done. But the problem with this season is that they're focusing too much on the younger generation of mutants (and who is the blonde guy with the red streaks?) to the detriment of the older ones. Yeah it's nice to see Cannonball and all, but dammit don't restrict Kurt to two seconds of air time.

Yes well its attempt at reverse psychology shall fail utterly!

It just seemed like a kind of a cool idea, though I was rather intimidated by the whole picture posting aspect. I don't like any pictures of myself, what the heck would I put up there? I mean I could use a picture of Carson, but I just think it'd be confusing.

(And of course Evolution is off canon. It's "X-Men High School" which in and of itself is pretty far from canon.)

Well yes and no, I mean they are pretty close to canon regarding the characters, their personalities, and their powers. The relationships are a bit different, but not overwhelmingly so. And I've always opposed the introduction of Spyke, I mean there are so many good characters to choose from why make up a new and lame one? At least they sent him off with the Morlocks.

This season? It's only one episode into it, isn't it? :)

And next episode is Jean and Scott's graduation, and a return to the Apocalypse plotline, from what TiVo says.

(and who is the blonde guy with the red streaks?)

I have no idea. :) I'm only slowly piecing together who some of the younger mutants are, as they're ones I've never encountered (like...Tina? I think, the blow-up balls chick, Magma, and Sunspot).

IMDB.com's X-Men: Evolution entry was good for me identifying the lesser characters. Not to mention checking out some of the voice actors. Kirby Morrow (Scott/Cyclops)? Mee-ow.

to the detriment of the older ones. Yeah it's nice to see Cannonball and all, but dammit don't restrict Kurt to two seconds of air time.

*laugh* And the real reason comes out. :) I'm sure Elfie will get his chance to shine again.

(I realize, considering, that the cartoon is an ensemble show, with some characters getting front burner status one week, and back burner status the next. Weird!)

I may be able to find the exact pic link out of my email.

I think I was happier in earlier seasons when the number of characters was limited to the core group. An ensemble of say 10 characters is a lot easier than an ensemble of 20+. At least they were wise enough to split the groups up in the comics before they became way too unwieldy.

Huh, I really don't think I ever saw that one. Explain just one thing to me, though, how on earth did you manage to keep your hair so flawlessly in place in that wind? We're sitting right next to each other and I look like I've been standing in a wind tunnel, you look like you just got off a runway!

Oh, and I'm supposed to talk to you about boxes for [livejournal.com profile] jakejr, we're planning to go up on Sunday and would like to take her a bunch if you've got some unpacked at this point.

It's back in a bun, and lots of spray-in gel. :)

I actually like your hair like that. It looks tousled and gorgeous.

Yup, she mentioned this. I'm planning on hauling what I can fit in my trunk over on Saturday. Although you guys are welcome to stop by before that. I don't know if my trunk exceeds the bug's, but aelf's trunk is probably bigger (depending on which car you guys are planning on taking up).

Mine started out pulled back too..just didn't stay that way as I recall. And my hair escapes even the tightest buns on calm days, I rather doubt it would've fared well in those circumstances.

Well it definitely looks tousled *G*

If you wouldn't mind bringing them Saturday that would be cool. I know you can fit more in your car than I can fit in mine. I really must get a more practical car in a couple of years. I love my Bug, but I need hauling space!

Not so much anymore, so I'm not sure how it stacks up with the bug. My seats no longer fold down, because of the battery.

However, I will do so!

In my experience, friendster is mildly amusing, not particularly useful, but definitely benign. I signed up at the insistance of some friends and I haven't had any problems with it at all. But then, I also wasn't really looking to meet new people/find a SO (an SO?)/etc.

Hope the bedleh works out, and WOO SG-1.

Oh *my* yes. It was lovely and tons of fun, but yeesh! The wind! I can't remember if you two were there when we were trying to put the tablecloths on the tables; it was not a pretty sight. Who knew a picnic-table-sized piece of plastic tablecloth could be such a potent weapon? I think my husband rescued me from its evil clutches more than once because in a blink of an eye, the wind would change directions for a second, pull a previously secured edge up, and presto! Instant mummy!

But hey, I'd endure far worse to see Ezzy and Merlin get hitched!

I'd agree that Friendster is amusing and harmless. I also haven't tried using it for finding dates/activity partners. Instead, it's kinda fun to see how many different social circles you're a part of, and how those circles interconnect. Frighteningly, I'm closely connected, through mutual friends, to several ex-managers and one current one (who was also an investor in Friendster). I'd bet that it's still heavily Bay Area as well (HQ in MV).

Well I've posted some more shots up on the Troupe page (www.ebonlock.com/bellydance/index.html"), which you're pretty free to pillage. If you don't find something there to your liking I'd talk to Aelf as she's the local bellydance photo archivist these days.
