Ok, so which is more pathetic:

1) The fact that I saw a 30 second trailer for Underworld 2 and immediately squealed like a little girl, "Hey, that's Tony Curran!"

or

2) The fact that Derek Jacobi was somehow convinced to appear in that film?

Just wondering...

Mmmmm...Derek Jacobi...such fine acting...

And so utterly wasted in this film. It's like when I found out that Dame Judi Densch was going to be in The Riddick Chronicles *shudder*.

Hey, it's just like Dame Judy in .... what the hell ever Vin Diesel flick she was in.

Chronicles of Riddick: Lickable Plus Pretty Costumes.

As noted above, The Riddick Chronicles, yeah, both tragic wastes of enormous talent.

Underworld 2 can't be that bad ... when compared to Blood Rayne.

Simply because HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED is responsible for the latter.

Joel Schumacher?
Bret Rattner?
Andrew Lloyd-Webber?
Adam Sandler?
Dario Argento?

Uwe Boll, the man who's made it his personal mission to be responsible for anally raping more video games while putting them on the big screen than anyone in the history of Hollyweird.

# Fear Effect (2008) (announced)
# Postal (2007) (announced)
# Far Cry (2006) (announced)
# Hunter: The Reckoning (2007) (pre-production)
# In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2006) (post-production)

# BloodRayne (2005)
# Alone in the Dark (2005)
# House of the Dead (2003)

Dear lord, are those all video game movies?
And it's not as if the genre has exceedingly high standards--even comic books turned into movies are generally granted higher accord.

[identity profile] razorjak.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)

Thankfully, none of those have been video games that I've played or actually like. Otherwise I'd feel worse about Herr Boll fucking them doggystyle with a necrotic hippo phallus.

Of course, can't be that bad is subjective.

It's akin to saying Attack of the Clones wasn't as bad as Phantom Menace ...

Or a urinary tract infection not being as bad as enflamed rectal ulcers.

Agreed, I just saw the standee for Blood Rayne and burst out laughing. That's a straight to the SciFi Channel flick if ever I saw one.

Given that I moderately enjoyed Underworld, I think the fact that Derek Jacobi is appearing in it is far, far more pathetic.

OTOH: more Derek Jacobi plz.

:)

The sad thing is that the combination of Derek and Tony actually has me mildly tempted to watch this film. That's so very, very wrong.

Definitely #2.

For certain... :)

Doesn't it just break your heart? I'm trying to tell myself Derek needs a new pool or something and that's why he took the gig.
