Monday Monday
Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but apparently the Phantom of the Opera film trailer is up. From the pics I'm mildly optimistic, but I need to hear them *sing*. I shall try to download this at home and give it a listen and look. Many thanks to
cleolinda for the news and the HP Goblet of Fire rumors. Mmm, Ralph Fiennes, now there's a dark lord I could get behind :)
Busy weekend. Should find out today whether I got the little bitty apartment I applied for on Friday. It's tiny, and no patio, but it also has a cozy feel to it and it's a really nice complex near work and on the ground floor. Also first month's rent is free and all utilities are included with the rent. I'd end up paying for phone and cable, that's it. Not too bad. I'm just a little afraid that the cats aren't going to adjust well, particularly Pye. He's just got so much energy and sometimes the house itself doesn't seem big enough for him. I worry.
Got through the first four seasons of DS9 special features and Aelf now sees why I wouldn't let her watch them until we finished the series. Way too many spoilers. The extra discs that came with three of my seasons have been pretty cool so far as well, but I'm really looking forward to the stuff on "Far Beyond the Stars", "Trials and Tribble-ations", and of course "What You Leave Behind". I suspect the latter will be a bit of an emotional roller coaster, though.
Saturday Aelf and I finally used our gift certificate for Dish Dash, a superb Mediterranean restaurant in Sunnyvale. All I can say is run, don't walk to this place. Everything about it was top-notch, including the service. But the food, oh my god the food! Best lentil soup I have ever tasted! The appetizers were to die for, and the desserts...damn. Even the mint tea was drool-worthy. I highly, highly recommend the place. It's a bit pricey, but lunches are quite reasonable and there are tons of choices, including lots of yummy vegetarian items.
Got some more stuff pulled for the yard sale which looks like it's going to be July 24th or so. I still have some stuff to clean out and price, but that shouldn't take too long. Then whoever is moving out first will be stacking all their stuff out in the garage so as to make the whole moving thing even simpler. Damn I love being organized.
( Yesterday Aelf and I met E- (a new friend from online) to go see Fahrenheit 9/11. )
