...fighting space aliens.
First, we will continue to have a house for at least another 12 months. The landlords came down on price a little (not as much as we wanted, but it's something), and hopefully in another couple of weeks we won't have to see the realtor again for that entire period of time. We also got the name and number of a repairman who will be coming to take a look at all the little things that need to be fixed. Yay roof over our heads!

esmerel as she finished up the beginner's class. After some warm ups we jumped right into "Princess of Cairo" and actually managed to finish going through the entire choreography. I'm pretty sketchy at points, and sloppy throughout, but it's a unified whole now. The six count step that scared the bejeezus out of me really isn't that tough once you break it down. Now it's about pounding it into my body (yay muscle memory!) and making it look good. Will Alyne feel we're ready to perform it at Straw Hat in a couple of weeks? The gods only know.
Once we refine this one I think we may get to learn the "Tick, Tick" drum solo choreography. I'm really looking forward to that one, though the hip locks will undoubtedly defeat me for a bit.
Oh, and before I forget, according to the 28 Days Later website you are supposed to wear a red shirt to tonight's sneak preview if you're planning to attend. They simply say "see what happens", so it could be a good thing or a bad thing. I'm not sure I own a red shirt, but I might procure one before attending. Can't help it, I'm a curious soul.
A big thank you to my sister, Larissa, who sent me some incredibly cool gifts yesterday. The wrapping paper was Renaissance Tarot cards, and I got the Nightcrawler super posable action figure (with church set!), the first season of Xena on DVD, and a bunch of truly fantastic CD mixes that she put together for me. Having a DJ in the family is a very nice thing indeed. I'm almost finished with the first CD and looking forward to making my way through the others!
And upcoming performance reminders, we'll be dancing at Angel's girls only hafla on the 21st (highly recommended, ladies, it was a fab time last year!) and at Straw Hat pizza on the 27th. Pizza and belly dance, how can you go wrong?
