Don't Know Why

So I caved and bought the Norah Jones cd "Come Away With Me", last night and it's every bit as good as I thought it would be. "Don't Know Why" is the only tune that's getting any radio play, and it's the one that intrigued me enough to want the whole cd. I've had bad experiences in the past when buying an entire album for one song, but this one was a pleasant surprise, with the kind of smooth, acoustic sound and lilting lyrics to make for excellent background music for almost any occasion or activity. I highly recommend it.

Almost bought the Star Wars AotC soundtrack, but decided I could accept neither the Jango Fett nor Yoda cover, I require Obi-Wan, dammit. If it's as good as my sister keeps gushing I may not make it through the weekend, however. I'm such a good little consumer.

Oh, and I came home last night to find a copy of the AotC comic waiting for me, so of course I read it. Don't look at me like that. I'm a fangirl with serious instant gratification needs and I'm not embarassed about it either. I embrace my geekyness. And yes I'm still seeing it opening night, so there.

Public announcement time:
For anyone interested in Indian food and belly dancing, my teacher, Shira's, new troup Bana'at el-Qamar is debuting Saturday April 27 at 7 pm. It'll be at Pasand (corner of El Camino and Lawrence), and it's a $20 cover, which includes the show and the buffet. Should be both group and solo performances, and as I'm at least noddingly acquainted with most of the gals I can assure you they're quite good. Don't know if I'll make it due to the CoC game, but they're performing again in May so I can just catch that one. Still, I encourage everyone else interested to attend.

Crunches: 80 (very proud of myself for doing them despite getting to bed very late last evening.
Life Lessons: 1, don't drink coffee after 9 pm even if it's decaf.

Yeah, I've noticed from The Original Pancake House that even decaf coffee will wire me (when I was off caffeine for a while). And I realized last week? two weeks ago?: no caffeine after 5 pm.

I want to do Pasand! Did you sign up? Are we doing it?

I didn't get advance tickets 'cause of the whole CoC thing, but it's only a $4 difference so I'm not sweating it. If we get done in time then I'd definitely be game too.

Which cover?

Which cover do you want I think we have all of them and I'm sending you a package anyway so let me know, John.

Thanks John, but I'll grab one for myself this weekend. No more spending, young man.

So who's Nora Jones?
And am I the only one who's pissed off at the 'four covers' thing and sees it as a crass marketing ploy rather than Lucas thinking of his public and trying to make sure that everybody can find a cover they like?

I've got the Norah Jones c.d. in my car, I'll bring it in when I see you (probably tonight) and play the first song off it. If that doesn't answer all your questions nothing will.
And of couse GL is using crass marketing ploys, they've always been effective for him before.
