Get out of my way son, you're usin' my oxygen.
Praise be to everyone who recognized Friday's quote, I'm not the only elderly person here who recognizes Battlestar Galactica. This makes me feel a bit better about my advancing years. A bit *G*
And my morning has just been made, a gal who runs one of my fave Hobbit sites posted some pics from TT, one of which involves Sam tenderly holding and kissing Frodo's hand. The hormone rush alone is making me nearly giddy. Gracious goddess this film just can't come out soon enough.
Ahem, but I promised a report on the penthouse suite tickets for Saturday night's hockey game. Where to begin? Well the elevator up to the fourth floor was kinda cool, though I must say there were more checkpoints and security people up there than I would expect at a maximum security prison. The suites do not, in fact, have their own bathroom in each, rather large, pristine restrooms on either side of the level with no lines whatsoever. I actually took a picture and will share it and the others from the box as soon as I get them uploaded.
Memorable moments:
1) The view of Kipper's ass was phenomenal from our seat.
aelfsciene and I had to continually remind one another that there was a game going on. And when he did splits we squealed like schoolgirls. Yay flexible goalies!
2) Free munchies and sodas. Hell an entire mini kitchen, plus a nice little seating area with comfy couches and tvs.
3) The dessert cart. The gals were just saying that the only thing the night was lacking was chocolate and then they bring some around. They even had booze in chocolate shotglasses. The only bad part about this was that during the consideration of the menu we missed the beginning of the fight. We all would've paid good money to see the moment our baby goalie decided to throw down and skated all the way across the ice to help out a teammate. That was the moment Aelf lost her heart to the boy, fickle woman }:)
4) My boy Patty scored! After repeatedly whiffing and being generally useless for most of the night he actually managed to put one in the net. Now I must get the personalized jersey. Absolutely must.
5) Sharkie's visit. He came in to the suite and kept us amused and distracted from a heartbreaking loss for a little while. Even accosted Aelf, again, pictures are forthcoming.
6) A night with the gals being silly. While we didn't feel quite so comfy bellowing while in the swank seats I must admit it was nice to be able to carry on a conversation from time to time during stoppages in play.
7) People saying, "Oh, you're in Nolan's box, are you a friend of his?" Heh, that was just too cool. Got a shot of his jersey hanging up in the box too, 'cause I'm just that big a fangirl.
Ok, enough hockey geeking. Many thanks to
jakejr and B- for hosting Craft Night yesterday. The food was yummy, the movies were wonderful, and I got some serious work done on my Legolas costume. Was delighted to me L-, who was a charming young woman and seemed to fit in with the group beautifully. And I'm glad M- managed to make it along to her first Craft Night, her knitting skills should be both feared and admired.
And now I am back at work with 400+ emails in my box. God help me.

Gah. I recognize your quote from today, but I can't place it. I think I even saw the movie/show (you're cheating and doing TV shows now!) it was in recently.

Re:
Now go rent the movie, trust me, it's well worth watching. Just make sure you're not in a funk or it may well push you to suicide....

(And I watched _Grave of the Fireflies_ recently, which if you don't know it is an anime movie about the effects of World War II on Japan. People starving to death and stuff. If /that/ didn't bum me out, /nothing/ will.)
