Ever read someone's journal and just assume they were your age only to find out they were like 10+ years younger than you? I am feeling truly ancient. Stuffy-headed and ancient. Ugh.
I also thought this was absolutely adorable and 100% correct:

My personal favorites:
When writing Snape!fic, I will not:
...make him smell like some inordinately sweet and intoxicating scent just so the Love Interest can catch a whiff and swoon.
...suddenly give him a son/daughter that enrolls in Hogwarts. (Surprise, dad!)
...make him a virgin with Astonishing Sexual Powers.
...have a perky OFC 'win him over' with her excessive good cheer or her feisty spunky attitude.
...give him Snape Manor, complete with more trappings and more wealth than even Lucius Malfoy can imagine.
...make him an expert in martial arts or weapons.
...be tempted to turn his private chambers into a Slytherin Love Boudoir complete with giant round rotating bed and disco ball.
The rest of the do's and don'ts are well worth a read.

pandarus has done it again, a gorgeous story that crosses the Potterverse with the Sandman universe. Snape summons Death and they have a long chat. Please go read Incarnate, you'll be glad you did.
Now I'm going to hug my box of tissues and wallow in my own germs for a bit...
