I'm really riveted, I just hide it well

So I took a look at the first house on my list last night in Mountain View. I didn't realize there was a really "seedy" side to this particular town, but I found it and the hovel that was set within it and shook my head in disgust. Now wonder it was so cheap. Ah well, onward and upward. And again, if anyone has any good suggestions for places to look aside from the Mercury classifieds, Craigslist and BayArea Rentals let me know.

I'm not sure how to feel about receiving all of one response to yesterday's post about having some free time next week...

Anyway, if this heat keeps up for much longer I'm doomed. Not only is our apartment a furnace at the best of times, but I can't get motivated when it's this hot. All I want to do is to lie around like some sort of gourd. I have too much work to do, dammit, especially packing. And John's arriving tonight which means he's going to have to suffer as well. *sigh*

Still contemplating the NERO thing, though I won't be able to make it to this weekend's event (as I'll have a guest), but perhaps the next one. I dunno', I can't help thinking I'd be happier doing something behind the scenes. Ponder...

Had trouble sleeping last night, though not really because of the heat. I just couldn't seem to shut my brain off and every little noise jolted me back to full wakefulness. I haven't taken in any caffeine in ages so it's not that this time. Perhaps it's the laundry list of things I need to do in order to move in
a month or so. I dunno', all I do know is that I'm sleeping in Saturday, dammit.

Crunches: 75

So yay! I get all your time next week! Plus, our house doesn't get that hot because it's nicely designed not to, so you could come over and do crunches.
Is John coming in late tonight? Does this mean less/no Ellies at video night?

John gets in around 9:20, so I can see you from 6 when I pick you up until 9 when I go to fetch him. Three hours isn't so bad, right?

Isn't that what [livejournal.com profile] mallen started out doing? :)

Oh hush

See I have way more self control than him, I could stay behind the scenes...really...I could...

Not to influence your decision-making process or anything (yeah, right), but there's a small but growing contingent of gypsy PCs in the game. If you made yourself a gypsy character, you could probably recycle some of the stuff out of your belly dancing wardrobe. :)

Of course...

...that begs the question of whether or not I'd have the guts to wear any of
that stuff in broad daylight }:)

The purple costume. :) Or you could maybe borrow the black choli I bought :) I dunno if you have a skirt that'd go well with it, but that covers more than most of what we have, I think.

What was the address of the not-so-good house? I generally avoid things near Escuala in MV, for instance.

Another possibility would be to drive around neighborhoods that you'd like to live in, and look for the "for rent" signs. Much easier now than it was several years ago. Plus, it lets you get a feel for the available neighborhoods in terms of where you would want to be and not be... this is what I did when I moved to San Francisco many years back.

Hmm, that's not a bad idea, though quite time intensive. Still might work on a Sunday... And this place was off of Moffett, I actually live pretty close to Escuela now, but you're right, I wouldn't want to live *on* it.
