Not without my effects.

I am beginning to think that the entire bellydance community is conspiring to make me give them all my money. Got this today:

See you there!

My first reaction? "Oh hell." Yeah, a bd store even closer than Lunatic Fringe and We3. Just what I friggin' need right now. I have been so good this summer, so good...*sigh*

Class was superb again last night, despite the fact that there were about 5 too many people crammed in there and it was hot as Hades in the studio. Even Alyne looked overwhelmed and overheated (and that woman never loses her cool). We made the best of the situation and I don't think anybody got smacked by anyone else during the arm work so that was good. Was a little sad not to run Princess again, but good lord does that drum solo need work. And three quick chest drops in a row? I suspect this may never be something I can accomplish. Still, it's kinda fun trying.

Got to see the gals do Raks Souhaila and then Aelf run her solo piece so we could videotape it. The crowd of gals who remained sat absolutely mesmerized while Aelf danced, a very good sign. I did feel bad for [livejournal.com profile] xeleste who'd showed up for a private veil lesson and ended up starting 15 minutes late due to our class and the usual hang around and chat post-class stuff. All during the drum solo I kept wanting to lean over and tell her, "We're really much better than we appear right now, I promise."

Am getting excited about the performance tonight, it now sounds like closer to 15 people showing up so boothes may not be enough space. Perhaps I should procure more ones...

And Sunday is Rakkasah, another grand excuse for me to spend far too much money shopping. On the plus side we're going the last day and staying 'til the end so we might be able to walk off with some real bargains like we did at Tribal Fest. Ah the joys of last minute bargain hunting. Not that I need anything else, but, well, that hasn't stopped me before. For anyone interested in attending it's up in Oakland (the Scottish Rite Center) and I believe it's $15 at the door. Great dancing and shopping for all!

Yes, they are. Not you personally, but anyone serious about dancing.
