"This house...is clean."
I decreed Friday a "clean your damn house" day, and am very glad I did. The house looks amazing and I am well pleased by the effort we put into it. Also my Bissell QuickSteamer is a delight, very easy to use and it made our carpets look and feel great. The only downside is that the directions tell you to use two capfuls of carpet cleaner and I didn't like the sort of "tacky" feeling that two left behind. Now one capful worked perfectly and I'm wondering if the two capfuls only applies to larger models. At any rate, to answer
elo_sf's questions, it works well, is extremely easy to use and the water is quickly and cleanly changed. The handle is indeed quite phallic, but I'd give it a 3 on the vibration-meter (to everyone else reading this, don't ask, trust me).
Anyhow, managed to get in some serious dance time Friday night as well as the housework and mowing the lawn and boy did I feel it Saturday. My body reminded me less than gently, "You're not as young as you used to be, dear, let's not do this again, 'kay?" But I got up fairly early and did some errands then some serious shopping with Aelf. I was very smug when we found the perfect birthday gift for
windrose completely by accident literally months in advance. Hee. Also managed to behave myself despite severe temptation and just picked up some very inexpensive plates/bowls/cups from Pier One. Their cobalt blue glassware was a dollar each and I grabbed two tall glasses only, despite severe temptation to pick up some extra wine glasses too. If we entertained more I might not have fared so well.
Got to see
cyranocyrano and bestow gifts upon him which Aelf and I were also quite smug about. Alone our gift-fu is strong, togther it is damn near incredible. We also contributed chips and more strawberries than god upon the little party at his place.
Sunday was a Troupe Samiyah meeting and pastries galore, yay Cosentino's bakery! Then the artist formerly known as mister_sunshine came by for a visit and there was much StarGate season one and chatting. Yet again I have come to the conclusion that seeing him face to face only once every few months just isn't quite sufficient as we couldn't seem to stop chatting. Afterwards I was good and mowed the front lawn then watered out back before I called my weekend duties officially done.
All in all I don't feel particularly rested by the weekend's events but I do feel accomplished and that's not too shabby. Also just found out our plans to dance tomorrow night have been cancelled so if my aunt and uncle get in touch with me (they're visiting my cousin who lives in the area) I can plan a leisurely dinner with them.
Oh, and for anyone taping/TiVo-ing "XMen Evolution", do you still have Thursday's episode? See I was a big dork and forgot that I was supposed to tape it Thursday night and we watched ST: Nemesis instead (D'oh!), and of course it was the big Kurt season two ep that I've been waiting forever to see, because that is how my life works. If you've still got it and could dump it to tape for me I'd be forever grateful!!!

Speaking of, has my belated b-day box actually made it to you? I mailed it priority last week, but with the holiday and all, I wasn't sure when it would actually arrive.
Re:
And you managed to sound surprised about that, impressive, most impressive.

Yes it did and I'd meant to lead into that when I started gloating about your gift and got distracted (big shock *G*). I loved it! The new Doc mug has a place of honor in the cabinet and I've added "My Friend Doc Holliday" to my Doc shelf. The bumpersticker will be going on a magnet to attach to my car and the other magnet's already on the fridge. What a Doc-a-licious birthday gift!

Erk. No. :/ For some reason, TiVo stopped watching X-Men like last Monday or Tuesday while I was gone.
Re:
Damn, damn, damn. Ah well at least it's a season two ep and I know they're coming out on DVD this fall so all is not lost.

It might still be on mine. I'll check tonight.
