[livejournal.com profile] moonlightnrain just pointed me at this Sherlock/Watson vid and it's so good I have to share, especially with you, [livejournal.com profile] windrose:

And if I haven't rec'ed it before, allow me to point you at this SGA McShep vid The Tree which is one of the best videos I've ever seen period. I mean just gorgeous, and I need a copy of the song...

And my friend J-'s band seems to be doing very well in Japan, oddly enough.

LOL! I watch "The Blue Carbuncle" every Christmas too! Oh, and I watch the Basil Rathbone version of The Hound of the Baskervilles as part of my Halloween viewing. *g* I probably own more movies and books on Sherlock Holmes than any other subject. As far as Jeremy Brett goes, I have all the episodes and movies that were made up to about 1990. I can't stomach anything Granada made after that.

I agree with you that "The Tree" would make a wonderful fic. Maybe someone will be inspired by it. As for my own fic, I plan to post 7(a) in the next couple of weeks. I think 7(b) will have to wait until February. Uh...I'm recovering from a bad cold and just haven't been as productive lately...

I hear ya. It's hard watching the later stuff and seeing how sick Jeremy was during the filming of it. Have you ever read "The 7% Solution"? If not I highly recommend it, not the movie mind you, the book. Oh and if you haven't been, at some point in your life you must make the pilgrimage to London and do the SH walking tour of the West End. It's like Mecca to Holmes fans and well worth the sore legs, believe me.

A couple of weeks, ok I think I can wait that long :)

I have read "The 7% Solution" and it's one of my favourite Holmes pastiches. I also enjoyed Nicholas Meyer's "West End Horror" and "The Canary Trainer," though I don't think they're as good as "The 7% Solution".

While I've been to Baker Street and the Sherlock Holmes Museum, I haven't done the West End walking tour! In fact, I didn't even know there was one! I'll definitely book myself a spot next time I go to London! :-)

Oh, and when I say a couple of weeks for the next installment of my fic, I'm guessing it will be closer to about a week or a week & 1/2. Unfortunately, it will be a shorter part with only the 7(a) material, but I'm hoping that 7(b) won't be too far behind it.

Yay! That means even less of a wait than I'd anticipated. You've just made my day!
