I just read about this Battlestar Galactica exhibit in Seattle, why didn't I know about this sooner? Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] elenderel for posting, I am so out of the loop!

First I'm still torn about my reaction to the last episode of BSG. I think I'll be processing it for a few days. I mean I totally expected that outcome I'm just not terribly happy about it.

But something I am happy about is the Bollywood dance workshop I attended on Saturday. I ended up convincing [livejournal.com profile] aelfsciene to join me and by the end of the workshop we looked at one another and announced, "Oh yes, we're taking this class." Holy god it was fun! I mean there are very few things that can get you excited and your blood pumping as fast as a good bangra tune. When we discovered we were going to be doing a Punjab choreography we about lost our minds. We had a little scarf tied to our fingers and everything.

I literally couldn't have had more fun if I'd tried. Even the setting was fantastic. It's at a women-only health club in RWC that was warm and inviting. It's quite literally on my way home from work every day so getting there on Friday evenings for class is going to be a piece of cake. I love the teacher, the style of dance (which is incredibly challenging and really not much like belly dance at all so I'm having to retrain my body big time), the music, everything. I think I'm going to stop on Monday and just go ahead and sign up for the class because I'm so doing this.

Oh and did I mention it's an incredible aerobic workout? Because it totally is.

Ok I just have to squee a little before I pass out tonight. Before we watched the new BSG ep tonight we discovered the latest webisode was on On Demand and it is Mr. Gaeta-rific. And part one made me throw my hands in the air and bellow, "YES! YES! I totally called that!" and then I did a little chair dance for quite some time. We didn't get a chance to finish it before the new ep started so [livejournal.com profile] aelfsciene and [livejournal.com profile] moonlightnrain they're all up on YouTube, just search for "The Face of the Enemy" and start with part 7 (there are 10 total). The final one seems to imply a serious Gaeta sub-plot in the remaining episodes of the series which makes me even happier.

I will just say this, Mr. Moore, if you kill him off we are going to have serious words you and I.

For those who saw the latest ep please join me in the comments because I must know what you think of the Kara stuff, the revelation of cylon number 5's identity, the Dee sub-plot and what you think will happen next. I can't say that tonight's was a "fun" episode to watch exactly, but I have to admit that I enjoyed it quite a bit for a variety of reasons. I think the first of those is that it's just really nice to have a sci-fi show that doesn't insult my intelligence continually. Yeah the series can be grim as hell sometimes, but no matter how long I've gone between episodes I get sucked right back in. The universe, dark as it is, keeps me coming back for more and it's a series I'm going to want to own in its entirety.

God why isn't it April 4th yet?!

Also I would like to publicly admit that I intend to watch this week's episode of Torchwood for one reason and one reason only...[livejournal.com profile] elo_sf tells me there's some Jack/Ianto groping. Yes, that is the one and only reason I intend to tune in. I am a sad, pathetic woman, I cop to that.

Just watched the latest episode of BSG and first, [livejournal.com profile] moonlightnrain I don't think you should watch this one any time soon. Or if you do, don't watch it alone. Seriously.

My thoughts on Maelstrom... )

Huh, tonight's BSG episode was...well...frankly quite lame, but the mention of a certain ship being lost made [livejournal.com profile] moonlightnrain ask "Someone should really put together a full list of the fleet." Heh, looks like someone has, how cool is that?

Ok I'm only a few minutes in but I have a new favorite BSG episode...holy god...I, uh, I think I'm glad I'm watching this one alone.

Spoilery stuff back here... )

OMG, the Season Two Soundtrack for BSG just arrived in my hot little hands today, and after quickly ripping it to my iPod, I've been listening to nothing but since. Holy god it's good! Two songs in particular, "Baltar's Dream" and "Scar" are just too damn danceable to be believed. I mean, seriously, Aelf, I don't think we can avoid putting together a serious all BSG choreography now. If you don't have a copy yet do yourself a favor and go get one now-ish.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] ravenmb, I can't remember if you saw Nightwatch when it was out, but if not or you want to see it again I've got my copy and I think I've got time Friday and Saturday evening, let me know.

So I just heard back from Bear McCreary *again*! Holy crap! And he sent me his mailing address. Double holy crap! But this bit I just have to share directly with you all:

There are some really cool tracks coming up on the Season 2 soundtrack
that you will probably enjoy. Also a really cool piece towards the end of
this week's episode...

Is it Friday yet? [/whine]

He referred to me and Aelf as "lovely ladies" *squee* and remembered meeting us at the convention! **bliss**

What a way to start the day!

Your Life on Battlestar Galactica )

I'm indulging in Jamba again today because my stomach isn't quite back to normal yet and I feel like treating myself for having managed to drag myself out of bed this morning. I actually passed out at 9 so I missed Lost and will have to catch up on it tonight. I don't mind spoilers, though, so if anybody wants to comment on it here feel free.

Ow. Decided to go ahead and get caught up on my vaccinations yesterday as well so my left arm is killing me today. Tetanus shots are a bitch. Still I can't complain too much as every time I got poked and prodded yesterday the people doing it were extremely gentle.

Wish I had more to report than the fact that I did a lot of sleeping yesterday but that's pretty much all I can say about the day. Oh except for having gotten mildly addicted to the Scifi series "Ghost Hunters", I was quite amused by their visit to the Winchester House. I recognized all the locations except the basement, which made me laugh. Also watched "First Comes Love", on Logo. It's a show where Scott Thompson plays wedding fairy to gay couples in Canada who can actually get married. It's beyond adorable. I wish a few of the people who find the concept of gay marriage so repugnant would just tune in for an episode or two. How anyone could have a problem with two people so obviously in love getting wed is absolutely beyond me, and I expect it might even change a mind or two. At least those minds capable of change.
